Marywood Stalled by Mighty Macs

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University had its two-game winning streak come to an end with a 64-49 loss to Immaculata University Monday in Atlantic East Conference women's basketball action. The Mighty Macs broke away from a second-quarter tie with 12 unanswered points.
 
Marywood had three players score 10 points on the night. Savannah Purdy, Olivia Ciullo and Faith Kendricks each had 10 points.
 
Adding to her Atlantic East Conference Defensive Player of the Week laurel, Ciullo had a team-high seven boards.
 
Marywood struggled from the field in the middle portion of the game, hitting less than a fifth of its shots in the second and third quarters, combined.
 
Immaculata had a 23-point, nine-rebound performance from Theresa Kearney. Erin Kelly had an all-around night with 10 points, eight assists and four steals.
 
Marywood will look for a season sweep of Gwynedd Mercy University on Wednesday on the road.
