Marywood Comes Short in Fourth Quarter

Gwynedd Valley, Pa. — Marywood University was set back in the last four minutes in a 60-54 loss to Gwynedd Mercy University Wednesday in Atlantic East Conference women's basketball action. The Pacers and Griffins split their season series. 

Savannah Purdy totaled 20 points and eight rebounds. She went 4 of 9 from long range, and she added four steals. 

Abbey McGee pickpocketed the Griffins six times and added eight points and seven rebounds. Kilie Wyers had a team-high 10 rebounds and five assists. 

Gwynedd Mercy totaled 18 points from Elise Syvester. Lynzie Eggers had a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds. Cayla Sharkey picked up 12 boards. 

Marywood's defense kept the top scoring team in the conference to 26.4 percent shooting. 

Both teams had 28 rebounds.
