Strong Third Propels Cabrini Past Pacers on Senior Day

Marywood will face Cavs again Monday in AEC First Round

Scranton, Pa. - Visiting Cabrini University outscored Marywood 22-10 in the third quarter to pull away and secure the #3 seed in the upcoming Atlantic East Women's Basketball tournament. The Cavaliers downed the Pacers 67-56 and the two teams will meet again Monday in Radnor.

Prior to the game, Marywood honored three seniors. Kylie Wyers, Bethany Maby and Juliana Beidler were all recognized for their contributions to the program and University.

Abbey McGee tied for a game-high with Cabrini's Ashley Tutzauer as both had 15. Savannah Purdy and Olivia Ciullo each had 13 for Marywood as did Miranda Liebtag for the Cavs. Tutzauer and Leibtag shared a game-high in rebounds with nine apiece.

Marywood led by two (14-12) after one quarter of play and trailed by two (33-31) at the half. A 10-point edge to the visitors in the third quarter gave the Cavaliers some breathing room before Marywood outscored the visitors 13-12 in the final frame.

A 12-2 run over the first 5:15 of the third from Cabrini separated the two teams. Cabrini went 4-for-6 during the stretch and got six points from Katie Rodriguez. Marywood was held to 1 of 6 shooting.

The Cavs shot 40% from the field but hit just one of 11 three point attempts. Marywood knocked down 5 of 16 from long range, but hit only 33.3% (21 of 63) from the field for the game. Cabrini had a distinct advantage at the charity stripe, going 26 of 31 (83.9%) to Marywood's 9 of 12 (75%). The visitors outrebounded Marywood by a 39-33 margin.

Tip-off time for Monday's first round playoff game has not yet been announced.
