Shea Wins Cornell 5K; 4x400 Breaks Record

Ithaca, N.Y. — Marywood University senior Katie Shea won the 5K with a school record performance this weekend at Cornell University's Deneault Invitational. The Pacers's women's indoor track and field team also competed at Susquehanna University this weekend.

Marywood's 4x400 relay of Hayley Gaines, Awnshaé Smith, Madi Howell and Chesna Andrade-Foster also broke a school record.

Shea finished first in a 10-woman 5K. She completed the race in 19:17.82 to break her own school record by five seconds.

Gaines, Smith, Howell and Andrade-Foster took sixth place with a time of 4:20.45.

At Susquehanna, Rosalyn Page finished in second place with a shot put throw of 36 feet, 11 1/2 inches (11.26). She beat her PR by 6 1/2 inches and ranks as the No. 2 distance at Marywood.

Maryam Hamidi recorded the second-best 500 time in school history. Hamidi took fourth in a time of 1:26.13. She set a PR of 8.44 seconds in the 60 dash, running nine-hundredths of a second better than her previous best to record the No. 3 time in the record books.

In the 600, Howell came in sixth place with a time of 1:26.13. Her time ranks fourth in school history. Kristen Persico gained an inch to her shot put PR, throwing a distance of 34-5.75 (10.51m) for 10th place. She sits fifth in program history.

Smith had a pair of sixth-place performances. She finished the 60 hurdles in 9.83 seconds. Smith measured at 34 feet, 10 1/2 inches (10.63m) in the triple jump.

Emma Wagner dropped 27-hundredths of a second (9.02) in the 60 dash. Gabriella Pimentel PR'd in the 200 with a time of 34.84 seconds. Alyssa Williams had a 31-second drop in the 5K for a time of 21:37.

At Susquehanna, Daelyn Karboski had a pair of PRs in the jumps. She beat her long jump mark by just under a foot (4.44m) and her triple jump increased by 2 3/4 inches (9.17m). She was fifth in the long jump.
