Saints Topple Pacers, 73-61

Arlington, Va. - Host Marymount University used a balanced scoring attack to secure a 73-61 win over Marywood University Saturday afternoon in Atlantic East men's basketball action.

The win moved the Saints to 11-8 and 5-2 in the league while the Pacers slipped to 7-12 (2-5 AEC). Marywood got a game high 25 points from Jason Holman but only five players scored for the Pacers in the loss. Adam Boussatta (14 points) and Corey Perkins (12) also reached double digits for Marywood. Mason Mendygral (6) and Matt McKenna (4) were the only other Pacers to register buckets.

Both teams shot above 45% for the game but neither shot well from three-point range, with Marywood connecting on just 3 of 11 attempts (27.7%) and Marymount going 3 of 16 (18.8%) from long range. Marymount held a distinctive 39-23 advantage on the glass and forced 22 Marywood turnovers.

The Saints also had 18 second change points to just four for the Pacers. The Marymount bench outscored their counterparts 31-10.

Marywood returns to action Wednesday with a road trip to league-leading Neumann University. Tip-off is set for 8:00 pm following the women's game.
