Men's Lacrosse Stalled by Greyhounds

Scranton, Pa. — A nine-goal run unraveled Marywood University Wednesday in its return from Spring Break. The Pacers' men's lacrosse team fell 14-7 to Moravian University.
 
Connor Reed made 21 saves to keep the Pacers in contention. Reed finished tied for a team-best eight ground balls.
 
Dalton Metzger and Dillon Kane each led Marywood with two goals and an assist for three points. Ben Mustakos scored twice with one assist.
 
Thomas Carroll tallied four ground balls on the defensive side of the field. Metzger caused a pair of turnovers.
 
Marywood's faceoff specialist Nick Ericson won 10 of 22 faceoffs with eight ground balls.
 
The Pacers led 3-1 after the first 11 minutes of regulation. Kane put the Pacers ahead on a Metzger-assisted feed. Zach Saneman doubled the advantage just over five minutes into the contest. After the Greyhounds pieced together their first score, Kiernan Scanlan put one past the Moravian keeper.
 
From there, Moravian held Marywood scoreless for 31 minutes, outscoring them by a 9-0 margin. Kane put breaks on the damage at the 3:22 mark of the third quarter.
 
Moravian outshot Marywood 52-31. The Pacers were successful on just 14 of 27 clear attempts. Moravian had a 46-37 advantage in ground balls.
 
The Pacers face another Landmark Conference opponent Saturday when they travel to Juniata College.
