Men's Lacrosse Soars Past Eagles, 16-3

Huntingdon, Pa. — Marywood University had nine different players score in a 16-3 victory over Juniata College on Saturday in men's lacrosse. The Pacers protected a three-goal lead by scoring the final 10 goals of the game.
 
John Scibello scored a game-high five points with two goals and three assists. Scibello added three ground balls.
 
Four players finished with three-point efforts. Dalton Metzger (2g-1a), Dillon Kane (2g-1a), Ben Mustakos (2g-1a) and Aiden Kilkenny (3g) each aided the Pacers offensively.
 
On the faceoff, Nick Ericson won 17 of 21 (80.9%) with 12 ground balls. Thomas Carroll pressured the Eagles with three caused turnovers and two ground balls.
 
Connor Reed picked up the victory in goal with eight saves.
 
Juniata opened the game with the opening goal from Jacob Wallman 47 seconds into regulation. The Pacers responded with a six-goal run over a 10:04 span. Metzger evened the contest, and Kane scored the go-ahead goal from a Mustakos assist at the 11:55 mark of the first quarter.
 
Juniata had back-to-back goals to move within three. Aiden Duran ended the Pacers' streak with 2:13 left in the first quarter. Jack Loucks opened the second quarter with an unassisted tally to move within 6-3 of the Pacers.
 
Marywood (4-3) held Juniata scoreless for the remaining 43:58 of the game.
 
The Pacers outshot the Eagles by a 53-29 mark. Marywood went 19 of 22 on clear chances. The Pacers held a distinct 37-18 advantage in ground balls.
 
Marywood returns home Wednesday night to host King's College.
