Overwatch Sweeps King's, Oneonta; Rocket League Blanks Lambton

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University bookended its Spring Break with wins in Overwatch and Rocket League in NECC action. The Pacers completed its first NACE Starleague season in Rocket League.

After beginning the season winless in its first two matches, Overwatch earned a pair of wins against familiar foes in one long night of competition. The Pacers defeated local rival King's 3-2 in the opener and defeated Coach Jacob Adler's Alma Mater 3-0 in the nightcap. 

The Pacers defeated the Monarchs in a deciding fifth match. 

Marywood handed the previously undefeated Red Dragons a shutout loss. 

Steven Espana-Arias, @TweMicrobee, demonstrated mastery of the DPS role with his plays on the hero Reaper. Valerio Amato, @Corhex, facilitated many engagements with his aggressive tank play style.

The Pacers won their third consecutive NECC Rocket League match. They allowed just one goal in three matches. 

In the first match, Marywood broke a scoreless tie with just over minute left. Kyle Jenkins hit a backwards shot off to take the lead. Jenkins added an insurance goal after a Pacers' shot caromed off the post. James Marsh capped off the win with an aerial goal at the buzzer. 

The Pacers fell behind 64 seconds into the second match. Marywood scored the go-ahead goal when he took possession on the base line and scored with 1:57 remaining. The Pacers won the second set by a 4-2 decision. Jenkins finished with a hat trick. 

Marywood's Marsh tallied a goal just near the midway mark of the third. The Pacers blanked the Lions 3-0.
