Women's Tennis Allows Just One Point in Win Over Clarks Summit

Scranton, Pa. - Marywood University women's tennis ended a three-game skid with a 9-0 win over Clarks Summit University Wednesday afternoon, allowing just one point in the win over the Defenders.  

Marywood (3-7) got 8-0 doubles victories from Allison Bashore and Gabriella Nowak (#1) as well as Faith Kendricks and Karah Laboranti (#2). The Pacers took a forfeit win at #3 doubles over Clarks Summit (0-5).

In singles play, Clarks Summit's Melaniee Stabler was the only Defender to win a point, but fell in the top flight to Bashore 6-1, 6-0.  Nowak, Kendricks, Lyndsey Medric and Laboranti all won at two through five singles, respectively, by scores of 6-0, 6-0. Kayla Flyte took a forfeit win at six-singles.

Marywood is back on the court Saturday when they visit Pratt Institute in Queens for a 12:00 pm non-conference match.
