Smith, Page Break Records at Susquehanna

Selinsgrove, Pa. - A pair of Marywood University women's track and field records were set at the Jim Taylor Invitational this weekend held at Susquehanna University.

Awnshaé Smith broke the school record in the long jump. Smith finished in fourth place with a distance of 17 feet, 2 1/4 inches (5.24m). Smith was also 10th place in the triple jump (10.38m).

Rosalyn Page had the Paces' best overall performance with a third place finish in the shot put. Page set both a school record and an AARTFC qualifying distance with a throw of 38 feet, 8 3/4 inches (11.8m).

In the hammer throw, Kristen Persico recorded the third-farthest distance in school history. She took 19th place with a throw of 115-1 (35.07m).

In distance events, Katie Shea and Molly Repecki tabbed No. 5 performance in the Pacers' record books. Shea was 21st in the 1,500 in a time of 5:11.13. Repecki earned seventh in the 10K in 42:45.

Maria Castaldi ran a pair of PRs. Castaldi ran 10 seconds off her 800 best with a finish of 3:02.85. She trimmed 27 seconds off her 1,500 time with a run of 6:01.32.

Gabriella Pimental beat her shot put personal best with a throw of 23-7.5 (7.2m). Madi Howell ran four-hundredths of a second better than her 100 dash PR, finishing in 14.15 seconds. Hayley Gaines trimmed six seconds off her outdoor 800 best, clocking in at 2:33.68.

Marywood competes at Widener University on Friday.
