Dyminski Stops 21 in Senior Day Setback

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University lost its home opener in a 16-8 setback to Marymount University on Saturday in Atlantic East Conference women's lacrosse action. The Pacers honored Emma Solomon, Kilie Wyers, Alaina Brenneman, Kayla McCabe and Ashley Cunningham on Senior Day. 

Emily Dyminski had a career-best 21 saves in a losing effort. She added a pair of ground balls. 

Solomon finished with two goals and two assists for four points. She also led the Pacers with four ground balls and two caused turnovers. 

Olivia Stollsteimer and McCabe finished with two goals. Tori Wilson tallied her first career goal, and Lauren Matarazzo added an assist. 

Wilson also produced two caused turnovers. 

Marymount's Caitlyn Dunn finished with seven ground balls. Taylor Young had four caused turnovers. Offensively, Kaleigh Dunham scored five. 

After seven minutes of scoreless action, Marymount (11-1, 1-0 AEC) went ahead first on an Emily Peters goal with 6:29. The Saints scored the first four goals of the game, and Stollsteimer ended the run with a woman-up goal. Solomon found the net with one second left in the first quarter to cut the Saints' lead to 4-2. 

The teams traded goals for much of the second quarter. Stollsteimer put the Pacers within three (8-5) when Brenneman ran coast-to-coast and set up a goal in front of the net. Dunham added one just before the half to start a five-goal run. 

Marywood successfully killed a three-down situation in the third quarter. 

The Pacers will welcome Immaculata University on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
