Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - Marywood University knocked off host Gwynedd Mercy University 7-2 in men's tennis Wednesday afternoon to level their Atlantic East Conference mark at 2-2. Marywood improved to 3-6 overall with the win.

The Griffins dropped to 0-10 (0-4 AEC) after managing points at four and five singles.

Marywood had an early 1-0 lead after three-doubles was forfeited by the hosts. Eddie McGreevy and Stefano Varela-Seri then won 8-2 at one-doubles. David Chemidlin and James Cawley were also 8-2 victors for the Pacers at two-doubles. Hunter Talipski and Mason Guelho were credited with the forfeit win at three-doubles.

Gwynedd Mercy took another forfeit loss at six-singles as Varela-Seri was credited with his second win of the day.

McGreevy was a 6-0, 6-4 winner in the top singles flight while Chemidlin was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at two-singles.

Cawley was in the toughest match of the afternoon end edged Justin Collins 6-7 (5-7), 7-6 (8-6), 10-5 at three-singles. Talipski fell at four-singles to Brian O'Driscoll (0-6, 2-6) and Guelho suffered a 5-7, 7-5, 4-10 loss to Hugh Lynch at five-singles.

Marywood closes AEC regular season action Saturday with a 1:00 pm matchup against league-leading Marymount University. Marymount controls first place with a 4-0 league mark. Neumann sits second at 2-1 while the Pacers and Immaculata are tied for third with 2-2 AEC records.
