Scranton Piles On Late in Electric City Derby

Kiernan Wilder scores his fifth of the season

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University fell to University of Scranton 6-1 Wednesday in non-conference men's soccer action. The Royals broke open a one-goal game by scoring four in the last 35 minutes of play. 

Kiernan Wilder scored his fifth goal of the season in the 10th minute. Jason Tordy assisted the goal to even the score at one apiece. 

Max Maccaul put the Royals ahead in the third minute. Logan Campbell put Scranton ahead 2-1 with a goal from Adam Havens in the 26th minute. 

Zach Simcsak finished with a goal and an assist for Scranton. 

Scranton (5-1-1) outshot the Pacers by a 24-5 margin and had a 9-2 advantage on target. The Royals had a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks. 

Alex Russo made two saves in 45 minutes. Darren Hyde had one save. 

Marywood (3-4) travels to Arcadia University on Saturday at 1 p.m.
