Field Hockey Falls to Geneseo, 2-0

Box Score Scranton, Pa. - Geneseo improved to 6-2 on the year with a 2-0 win over host Marywood University Saturday afternoon in Scranton. The Knights got goals from Sam Lewis and Emma Fon in the win.

Lewis opened the scoring in the first quarter at the 6:45 mark when she deflected a shot from Maggie Phipps into the cage.

The score would remain 1-0 in favor of the visitors til the 50th minute when Fon scored unassisted to double the Knights' lead.

For the game, Geneseo had a 13-6 advantage in shots (9-3 on goal) and had six penalty corners to one for Marywood.

Rachel Yohn made seven saves in the loss.

Marywood (2-5) will host DeSales Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm.
