Pacers Keep Even Steven with Home Split

Corr finishes with 13 kills, 19 digs in win over Greyhounds

 
Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University continued to maintain its even record with a Saturday split at its first tri-match of the season. The Pacers fell to Misericordia University in three sets before defeating Moravian University 3-1 in the nightcap.
 
The Cougars defeated the Greyhounds in the neutral site match.

The Pacers defeated the Greyhounds by scores of 26-24, 22-25, 25-21, 25-16. Marywood shot .137 for the match to Moravian's .085 mark.
 
Marywood received a 13-kill performance from Shannon Corr. Corr added a season-high 19 digs with three total blocks.
 
Mikayla Meek had 16 assists, 11 digs, nine kills, four aces and two blocks. Casey Hagerstrom led the Pacers with a .320 attack percentage with nine kills and four blocks.
 
Sydney Steiner helped the Pacers with 23 assists and 15 digs. Donna Bostjancic provided 24 digs.
 
On the serves, Libby Smith matched Meek with four aces.
 
Emily O'Brien finished with a .235 attack percentage with eight kills.
 
Marywood averted a near monumental letdown in the first set. The Greyhound broke five consecutive set points off of Emily Szy serves. Szy had her second ace of the run to even the score at 24-24. The Pacers came charging back with a Karly Boyer kill from Bostjancic. Hagerstrom closed the set with an ace.
 
After the Greyhounds took the second set, Marywood roared to an early 10-point lead. A Hagerstrom and Corr block capped an eight-point run to take a 12-2 advantage. Moravian cut the deficit to two on a Pacers' attack error. Corr had two straight kills to take the 2-1 lead.
 
Marywood shot .312 with a 56 percent sideout in the fourth set.
 
Moravian's Sophie Bauer had nine kills. Allie Ludlow made five aces.

The Cougars defeated the Pacers by scores of 25-15, 25-21, 25-20.
 
Corr, Meek and Hagerstrom each had a team-high five kills. Corr added 11 digs, and Smith finished with three aces.
 
Marywood welcomes Penn State Harrisburg on Tuesday night.
