Pacers Fall to Endicott in Betty Richey Tourney Opener

Marywood takes on Stevens in consolation game Sunday at 11:30am

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - Marywood University fell to Endicott College 5-1 in the opening game of the Betty Richey field hockey tournament Saturday at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Endicott scored once in each of the two opening periods to hold a 2-0 halftime lead. Meaghan Hogan scored in the 9th minute and Lindsay Bruns, who assisted on Hogan's opening goal, scored in the 21st.

After half, the Gulls added two third period goals as they outshot Marywood 8-1 in the frame. Hogan tallied her second of the game in the 33rd minute and Maddy Dangler scored off a feed from Hogan in the 35th.

Marywood got on the board in the 52nd as Lauren Youngken scored on an assist from Shannon Gosline.

Casey Halliday closed the scoring in the afternoon with a tally in the 59th minute for Endicott.

The Gulls had a 15-8 advantage in shots, including a 13-6 mark in shots on goal. Marywood had five penalty corners to two for the Gulls. 

In goal, Rachel Yohn made eight stops - a game high - while her counterpart Brianna Anslow made five saves in the victory.

Marywood (0-2) takes on Stevens (1-1) Sunday at 11:30am in the consolation game. Live stat and video links are available on the schedule page.
