Zieger, Hervieux & Lee Lead Swimming to Victory in Regular Season Finale

Bethlehem, Pa. - Marywood University finished up its men's and women's swimming regular season competition Saturday with wins against Moravian University. The Pacers women defeated the Greyhounds with a score of 93-60, while the men escaped Moravian's squad by two points (57-55).

In his final regular season meet of his career, senior Jason Lee stepped up to the challenge of sealing the team victory in the final event. Lee followed up a second-place finish in the 1,000 freestyle (12:39.17) with two first-place finishes and personal regular season-best times in the 100 freestyle (55.77) and 100 breaststroke (1:07.08) to defeat the Moravian men's team down the wire.

Sophomore Dylan Hervieux was perfect on the afternoon, finishing in first place in all three of his races (200-yard freestyle, 1:54.85; 200 IM, 2:15.02; 100 backstroke, 58.71).

Sophomore Sabrina Zieger led the women's team with two first-place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle (2:09.98) and 200 IM (2:29.78) as well as a second-place finish in the 100 backstroke.

The women's team also picked up victories on the backs of sophomore Samantha Peck (1,000 freestyle, 12:09.15; 500 freestyle, 5:55.29), senior Maggie Davis (100 butterfly, 1:07.50), and freshman Aubrey Mangan (100-yard breaststroke, 1:17.69).

The Marywood Pacers women's swimming team finishes the 2022-23 regular season with a record of 5-7 (2-4 in Atlantic East Conference competition), while the men's swimming team sits at 3-8 (1-4 versus AEC teams).

Marywood looks forward to the 2023 Atlantic East Conference Championship meet. The meet will be hosted by St. Mary's College of Maryland in St. Mary's City, Md. from February 10 through 12.
