Pacers Roll over Cyclones Behind Offensive Outbursts

Riley Mulherin delivers a hat trick; Josie Sorce nets seven points

Scranton, Pa. — The Marywood University women's soccer team shut out the Centenary Cyclones 7-0 on Wednesday in Atlantic East Conference play. The Pacers improved their record to 5-5-2 overall and 1-0-1 in conference play.

Josephine Sorce had a career-best game with two goals and three assists for seven points. Riley Mulherin finished with her second hat trick of the season.

Carly Walters finished with a brace.

Sarah Kretchmer assisted the Pacers' first two goals — tallied within the first four minutes of regulation. Kretchmer put a ball into the box for Sorce to one-time into the left corner in the second minute. Shortly after in the fourth minute, Carly Walters scored off another Kretchmer assist, hitting the upper-left corner from 19 yards out.

Marywood's third goal was also scored by Carly Walters assisted by Sorce in the 13th minute. To close out the first half of play, Caroline Plank found the back of the net from an assist from Kate Kollar-Dye on a designed set piece in the 19th minute.

The Pacers did not back down after having a 4-0 lead entering the second half of play. Riley Mulherin secured a hat trick entirely in the second half. Mulherin's first goal was off a Caroline Walters assist. Sixty-six seconds later, she scored off a Sorce feed. Mulherin captured her hat trick in the 86th minute.

Mila Elash made one save and executed a number of defensive stops for the clean sheet.

The Pacers will be back in action on Saturday, taking on the Cabrini Cavaliers at noon in Radnor, Pa.
