Pacers Battle Back, Results in Draw

Gomez records his fifth goal of the season

Scranton, Pa. - On this chilly October Saturday, the Pacers played host to the Saints from Marymount University. The two sides filed it out for 90 minutes, eventually resulting in a 1–1 draw. The tie takes the Pacers to 6-8-2 (1-2-2 AEC) and 8-6-2 (2-2-1 AEC) for the Saints. 

Marymount struck first after a grueling 43 minutes of battle, with a goal in the 44th minute. The score came off the boot of Matthew Correa, assisted by a cross from Kevin Cassinera, for the 1-0 lead. 

In the 55th minute, Danny Gomez capitalized on a fast break, set up by a beautiful through ball from Matt Laudenslager to even the match at 1-1. Gomez was able to sneak the shot into the bottom left corner of the net. 

The sides went back and forth on opportunities, with many crossbars being struck, but the match ended in a 1-1 draw. 

Marymount outshot Marywood, with 28 total shots, compared to the Pacers' 15. The Saints had 11 shots on goal, while the Pacers recorded six. 

Marymount was granted 10 corner kicks, while Marywood had three. 

Alex Russo recorded 10 saves today for the Pacers. Bayron Banegas saved five for the Saints. 

The Pacers will host Immaculata University for senior night on Wednesday at 7pm, their last regular season bought.
