Mulherin Mesmerizes Marywood Crowd with Game-Winning Golazo

Marywood delivers LBC its third defeat with 82nd minute goal

Scranton, Pa. - Riley Mulherin scripted a late game-winning goal in the 82nd minute to oust Lancaster Bible College Wednesday in non-conference women's soccer. Mulherin's game-winner gave Marywood University a 2-1 victory over the Charger. 

Mulherin finished with a brace, completing her fifth consecutive game of at least two points. Josephine Sorce had an assist. 

Mulherin put the Pacers ahead in the 82nd minute. On a free kick, she tallied her career-best 10th goal when she lifted a shot over the head of the goalkeeper from 35 yards away. 

It was her second goal of the contest. Mulherin broke the stalemate with a 68th minute goal from Sorce. She converted a shot from 18 yards out after Sorce played a ball through from in front of the net past a defender. 

LBC edged the Pacers 20-17 in shots. The Chargers had a slight 6-4 advantage in shots on target. Lebanon Bible posted seven corner kicks to the Pacers' three. 

The Chargers evened the score in the 75th minute. Isabella Eufemia crossed a ball from the left sideline to Kendal Ream. Ream drilled a ball into the right side of the net from 12 yards out.

Mila Elash secured the win with a five-save effort. Her counterpart Morgan Sendgikoski made two stops. 

Marywood (4-5-1) hosts Neumann University on Saturday at 1 p.m.
