Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Pacers Draw in Conference Opener, 1-1

Scranton, Pa. — In torrential downpour, Marywood University played to a 1-1 draw against Neumann University Saturday afternoon in the Atlantic East Conference women's soccer opener. Marywood celebrated seniors, Shannon MacDougall, Kate Kollar-Dye, Josephine Sorce, Ashley Walter, and Emily Gunsel.

The game was quiet until the 74th minute when Neumann drew a penalty in the box. Ebony Arvelo took the shot and laced it in the right side of the net to put the Knights up one. 

Marywood responded in a quick fashion when in the 76th minute Josephine Sorce took a corner kick and Emily Welsh was able to tap it in through traffic to tie the game. 

The Pacers outshot the Knights, 13-5; shots on goal, 8-4, and corner kicks, 5-4. 

Mila Elash recorded three saves in the box for the Pacers. Neumann's Sarah Andreano recorded seven saves. 

The Pacers will be back in conference action Wednesday against Centenary at 4:00 pm.
