Pacers Fall to Stevenson in Season Opener

Scranton, Pa. — In the first meet of the season, Marywood University swimming and diving fell to Stevenson University in both the men's (193-70) and women's (180-71) competitions.

On the women's side of things, Emerson Gellert came in first in the 200 Yard Freestyle for the Pacers, posting a time of 2:12.25. Aubrey Mangan was the next women's winner for Marywood, as she achieved a time of 36.74 in the 50 Yard Breaststroke. Mangan also won the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:20.77. Sam Peck was victorious in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a finals time of 1:04.59. The final women's win for the Pacers came from Molly Englehardt, who posted a time of 1:00.47 in the 100 Yard Freestyle.

Dylan Hervieux led the way for the Pacers in the men's events. Hervieux brought home first place in both the 50 Yard Backstroke and the 100 Yard Backstroke with finals times of 26.55 and 58.94 respectively. Quinn Grosvenor was also triumphant, winning the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:58.90. To round out the Marywood victories, Patrick Marbaker was awarded first place in the 1 Meter Dive, with a final score of 127.65.

The Pacers will host the Royals from the University of Scranton in their next meet, taking place next Saturday.
