Marywood Falls to FDU-Florham, 81-71

Brendan Franko records double-double

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University men's basketball fell to Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham 81-71 on Saturday in the consolation final of the Scranton Opening Weekend Tournament this afternoon. 

A first half dominated by the Devils was followed by a perfectly even second half, where the Pacers came up just short. After getting down 10 points at the half, Marywood went toe for toe with the Knights in the second half, as both teams put up 41 points. 

Brendan Franko put up a double-double, shooting 7-15 from the floor for 15 points. He added 10 rebounds. 

The difference in the game was the Devils' dominance from behind the arc, making two thirds of their threes (12-18). 

Franko and Trevor Seitz recorded four assists each, helping the team total of 14. 

The Pacers were out-rebounded 36-32. 

Marywood will look to bounce back on Tuesday, as they host Keystone College at 7pm.
