Pacers Go Cold Against Colonels in 75-58 Defeat

Marywood's three-game winning streak comes to a halt

Wilkes-Barre, Pa. — Marywood University had its three-game men's basketball winning streak come to a halt Tuesday in a 75-58 loss to Wilkes University on Tuesday. The Pacers made just 30.9 percent from the field.

Trevor Seitz had a team-high nine points. Austin Bausman totaled eight points. 

Coming into the game ranked third in assists in Division III and the country's defending statistical champion in the category, Marywood had just eight assists. 

By contrast, Wilkes placed six players in double figures. Cayden Merrifield and Joey Zvorsky led Wilkes with 13 points apiece. Lucas Leso had 12 points. Jack Argento scored 11 points, and Matthew Davidheiser tallied 10 points. 

Trent Fisher provided a double-double of 12 points and 10 assists. 

Wilkes dominated the game by a 36-22 margin. 

The Colonels (4-0) took the lead late in the first half and never looked back. Wilkes went on an 18-point in the last seven minutes of the first. Trailing by three, Argento hit a 3-pointer to even the score at 17-17. On the next possession, Lesko gave the Colonels a lead with another long-distance shot. Davidheiser nailed a trey to cap the scoring run to take a 32-17 advantage with 1:37 left in the half. 

Marywood is idle for eight days. It will travel to Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, N.Y. on Wednesday, Nov. 29.
