Volleyball Closes Regular Season with Split against Sage, Vassar

Marywood outlasts Gators after first two sets go into extra points

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. — After dropping a heartbreaking first set, Marywood University rebounded to win three straight for a victory against Russel Sage Colleges on Saturday. The Pacers split a tri-match with a 3-0 loss to host Vassar College. 

Marywood will host Centenary University in the Atlantic East volleyball first round on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. 

Marywood 3, Sage 1

After dropping one of the longest sets in the modern era, Marywood responded by taking the next three for a 3-1 victory. 

The Pacers won by scores of 34-36, 27-25, 25-20, 25-23. 

Marywood welcomed the return of Rebecca Klemovitch to the lineup after nearly two seasons. Klemovitch had 15 kills with a .195 attack percentage. She had two solo blocks and one block assist. 

Casey Hagerstrom finished with 15 kills and zero errors. She tallied four block assists and seven digs. Hagerstrom had a career-high .500 attack percentage. 

Gianna Norton finished with 29 digs and three aces. Jadeyn Laws posted a double-double of 16 digs and 38 assists. 

Vassar 3, Marywood 0

Vassar won by scores of 25-12, 25-11, 25-9. 

Gianna Norton had eight digs. Donna Bostjancic totaled seven digs. Jaedyn Laws totaled seven assists.
