Pacers Overpower the Monarchs for a 20-3 Win

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University's women's lacrosse team trampled over King's College for a 20-3 win on Thursday. The Pacers advance to 2-0 on the season.

Kayla McCabe tallied eight points on six goals and two assists. Freshman Avery Meighan contributed five goals, three assists, and 12 draw controls.

Just one minute into the game, Meighan opened up the scoring for the Pacers off a Kaitlyn Smith assist. The Monarchs answered three minutes later with a goal from Sarah Schultz to even the score.

The Pacers led 7-2 going into the second quarter. With four minutes left in the first half, McCabe scored back to back goals giving the Pacers a comfortable12-2 lead. King's' Olivia Benner scored off an assist from Kyleigh Dunworth to make it a nine point deficit with just two seconds left in the first half. 

The second half was dominated by the Pacers as they scored eight unanswered goals over the Monarch's.

Smith finished with three goals and one assist with five ground balls. Natalie Yilanjian tallied three goals and two assists. Emma Solomon and Olivia Stollsteimer each contributed one goal and one assist. 

Emily Dyminski and Kortney Harry ended with a combination of five saves. 

The Pacers travel to Annville, Pa. to face Lebanon Valley College next week.
