Pacers Perish in Double Overtime Against Manhattanville

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University men's lacrosse fell to Manhattanville College Saturday afternoon with a 7-6 loss in double overtime. It was the fifth longest game in program history. 

Junior Kieran Scanlan contributed two goals in the loss. 

The Pacers and the Valiants were evenly matched through out the entirety of the game. The first quarter comprised of the lone goal from Dillon Kane with one minute left in the quarter.

Just three minutes into the second quarter, Manhattanville's Drew Palladino responded to even the score at one. The Pacers entered half time down by one goal.

With six minutes left in regulation, Scanlan scored off an assist from John Scibello to notch the game at 6-6.

Scibello had a one on one chance with Manhattanville goalie Cody Johnston, but was ultimately denied, sending the game into the second overtime period.

Two minutes in, Sean Larkin found the back of the net to take home win. 

Scibello added one goal, one assist, and 11 ground balls. Kane and Dalton Metzger each added one goal and one assist. Matt Manna finished with one goal.

Colin Trainor made 14 saves. Nick Ericson went 12-17 in faceoffs. 

The Pacers will host Mount Saint Mary College next Saturday.
