Scibello Scores 100th Career Point in Win Over Juniata

Scranton, Pa. — Sophomore John Scibello scored his 100th career point in a 9-3 victory over Juniata College on Saturday in men's lacrosse. Scibello, Aiden Kilkenny, and Kieran Scanlan scored two goals a piece to lead the Pacers.

Scibello also contributed one assist and five ground balls in the win. 

Juniata had the first goal of the game just three minutes into regulation from Charlie Newman off an assist from Beaux Wojciechowski. This would mount to be the Eagles' first and only lead of the game. Just one minute later, Scanlan found the back of the net from a Scibello assist to notch the game at one a piece. Kilkenny, Scibello, and Ben Mustakos followed to gain a 4-1 lead at the end of the first.

The second quarter was dominated by the Pacers outscoring the Eagles by a 2-0 margin. Scanlan earned his second of the game, while Dillon Kane earned his first with just one second left in the quarter.

Juniata's Aiden Duran scored off an assist from Vincent Bechler to score the lone goal of the third quarter to decrease the Pacers lead by four goals.

Marywood outscored Juniata by a 3-1 margin. With seven minutes left, Ben Pizzarello opened up the scoring for the final quarter of regulation, followed by Kilkenny's second goal of the game to have a 8-2 lead nearing the end. Juniata's Duran earned his second goal of the game off a Wojciechowski assist to add one more before the end. Scibello closed out regulation with a goal to secure the second victory of the season. 

The Pacers led Juniata in shots and ground balls by a 59-25 and a 44-24 margin respectively. 

Kane and Pizzarello each tallied one goal and one assist. Mustakos added one goal, while Matt Manna and Gabe Stover each contributed one assist.

Nick Ericson added seven ground balls and went 13-15 on face offs. Colin Trainor made eight saves in the win.

The Pacers will travel south to take on King's College on Wednesday.
