Pacers Even Record Against Lycoming, 4-1

Adam Ginsberg records three of the Pacers' six hits

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University evened its record with a 4-1 victory over Lycoming College Thursday in non-conference baseball action. After allowing a run in the first, the Pacers blanked the Warriors over the remaining eight innings.

Adam Ginsberg was responsible for three of the Pacers' six hits on the afternoon. Ginsberg went 3 for 5 with a double and a pair of runs.

AJ Giannetti reached three times with two walks, a sacrifice fly and an RBI. Max Slusser also walked twice and reached with a hit by the pitch. Joseph Bruno swiped two bases.

Danny Cossa recorded his first victory of the season in a midweek start. He struck out six in five innings. Cossa allowed an earned run and four hits.

Michael Aronica picked up a save with two strikeouts for a perfect ninth inning. Aidan Dolan and Max Ryan joined Aronica for a bullpen effort that allowed two hits and no runs in four innings.

First-year program Lycoming (4-13) opened the game with a run in the top of the first. N. Reeder beat out an infield single and stole second base. J. Schilling hit an RBI single to right field.

Marywood responded quickly in the first. Christian Michak hit a lead-off single to shortstop. Adam Ginsberg doubled, and Max Slusser was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Giannetti hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game.

Michak started the run production again in the second inning. Reaching base via a walk, Michak stole second with two outs. Much like an inning earlier, Ginsberg beat out an infield pitcher, and Slusser loaded the bases with a walk. Michak gave Marywood the lead on a passed ball. James Daly drove in the Pacers' third run on an RBI walk.

In the bottom of the sixth, Ginsberg head a lead off single that went off a diving second baseman's mitt and advanced on a wild pitch. Antonio Gelabert had a pinch-hit RBI on a batted ball that was misplayed by the third baseman.
