Emma McNally draws a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh

Scranton, Pa. — Emma McNally drew a walk-off walk to give Marywood University a 3-2 victory over Wilkes University Thursday in non-conference softball. The Pacers lost 14-4 in six innings in the nightcap.

Marywood ends a seven-game losing streak at the hands of the Colonels. The Pacers beat Wilkes for the first time since another one-run win over the Colonels on April 24, 2016.

Mara Hamm (7-7) returned to the win column with a complete game performance. She allowed one earned run and five hits with five strikeouts. At the plate, Hamm was 2 for 4 with an RBI.

With the score evened at 2-2 heading into the bottom of the seventh, Tori Para reached on a fielding error by the first baseman. Sam Baltrusaitis and Brooke McKay drew walks to load the bases with no outs. McNally walked on a 3-2 count to secure the win.

Marywood trailed in the sixth inning. McNally hit a leadoff double. Stalter sprayed a single to center field and advanced to second base when center fielder Hana Cross gunned down McNally at home plate. Hamm tied the game by launching a single to right center to bring in Stalter.

The Pacers took an early lead in the bottom of the second inning. Baltrusaitis legged out a single to the pitcher and stole second base. McNally brought in the first run with a single to center field.
