Pacers Upended by Mighty Macs, 4-1

Vinny D'Auria tallied three singles

Immaculata, Pa. — Marywood University fell to Immaculata University 4-1 in the opening game of an Atlantic East Conference baseball series. The Pacers will host the Mighty Macs in a doubleheader on Saturday

Vinny D'Auria was 3 for 4 with the team's lone RBI. AJ Giannetti reached three times with a hit and two walks.

Nick Notari earned a quality start, allowing two earned run over seven innings. He struck out six and yielded six hits.

Immaculata scored two in the third inning. Maddox Stern doubled to left center, and a pair of walks loaded the bases. A J. Crowding single scored two runs. Notari sat down two batters to get out of the inning with just a 2-0 deficit.

Marywood put its lone run on the scoreboard in the top of the fifth inning. With two outs, Adam Ginsberg reached on an error by the shortstop. Max Slusser singled to left field. D'Auria put an RBI single that scored Ginsberg to put the Pacers within a run (2-1) of the Macs.

Immaculata added an unearned run in the seventh when a throw down to second base on a steal went into the outfield and allowed a runner to score. The Macs' Joey Sacco led off with a double and scored on a J. Klemick single in the eighth.

Sacco was 3 for 4 with a run and a double for Immaculata.
