Devils' Late Decider Stuns Women's Soccer

Madison, N.J. - An 82nd minute FDU-Florham goal was the difference in Marywood University's 3-2 loss Saturday in non-conference women's soccer. After four goals were scored in the opening 12 minutes, both teams played 70 minutes of scoreless soccer until the game-winner was scored. 

Amanda Martinho notched the game-winning goal in the 82nd minute. 

Marywood scored two goals in a six-minute span. Carly Walters scored on an assist from her twin sister Caroline Walters in the sixth minth. In the 12th minute, Isabel Shore gave Marywood a 2-1 lead on Sarah Kretchmer's first helper of the year. 

Ashley Dietrich evened the score 50 seconds later on a Sofia Carrozza assist. 

FDU Florham scored 15 seconds into regulation on an Ashley Dietrich assist.

Mila Elash had three saves for the Pacers. 

Both teams finished with 14 shots. Marywood edged the Devils 9-7 in shots on target. The Pacers had a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks. 


Marywood heads to Kean University on Wednesday.
