Pacers Unable to Hold on to Early Lead against Lions

Mikayla Meek finishes with 12-kill effort

Middletown, Pa. — Marywood University won the first set but lost the next three in a 3-1 loss to Penn State Harrisburg Thursday in non-conference volleyball. 

The Pacers lost by scores of 21-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-16. The Lions shot .221 to the Pacers' .124.

Mikayla Meek had 12 kills with a .156 attack percentage. Gianna Norton had 21 digs. Jaedyn Laws finished with a double-double of 29 assists and 11 digs. 

In the first set, Harrisburg scored five straight to force a 19-19 tie. After a Penn State service error, Laws had a kill from Norton to take a 2-19 lead. Marywood finished the game with three straight points. Autumn Savitski had a kill to start the rally, and Norton earned set point on a service ace. 

Harrisburg had three players in double-double figures with Camryn Wettstone (12), Tori Henderson (11), and Hannah DeGregory (10) leading the way. 

Marywood looks to end a losing streak at Wilkes Saturday in a tri-match that also welcomes Hunter College.
