Geneseo, N.Y. — Marywood University came up short 3-1 to SUNY Geneseo in a non-conference field hockey loss on Saturday afternoon. Both teams currently stand with a 6-3 record on the season.

Dariane Jones tallied a goal for the Pacers. Cydney Lahr finished with an assist.

Geneseo scored the first goal of the match in the 23rd minute. Katrina Clare placed the ball in the back of the cage for an unassisted goal.

The Pacers were able to even up the score at 1-1, thanks to a goal from  Jones in the 26th minute. The goal came just after a penalty corner, and Lahr was credited with the assist.

The match remained tied until the 37th minute, when Clare scored her second goal of the game, helping the Knights regain the lead.

Shortly after the beginning of period No. 4, in the 47th minute, Olivia Hernick found Clare, who scored yet again. The third Geneseo goal was also the third goal off the stick of Clare, who secured a hat trick.

The Knights out-shot the Pacers 19 to 4, with 12 of those shots on target, compared to Marywood's two.

Geneseo won the penalty corner battle as well, 9 to 4.
