Pacers Breeze Past Cyclones for 76-53 Win

Marywood improves to 3-2 in conference play

Scranton, Pa. -- Marywood University captured its largest Atlantic East Conference men's basketball victory in six seasons on Saturday. Ending a three-game losing streak in the series history, the Pacers defeated Centenary University 76-53 in the Insalaco Arena.

Brendan Franko led the Pacers offensively with 16 points. Frank shot 7 of 12 to complement seven rebounds on the defensive end. 

Austin Bausman totaled 15 points. Collin Himmelberg scored a season-best 13 points, and Mason Mendygral contributed 11 points. 

Defensively, Shilo Bivins and Cole Johnson provided nine and eight rebounds, respectively. Bivins added three blocks. Trevor Seitz finished with seven assists. 

Centenary was led by Kenneth Rankin's 14-point production. 

After breaking away midway through the first half, the Pacers did not relinquish its lead throughout the remainder of the game. Marywood went ahead 15-13 on a Johnson layup with 10:42 remaining in the half. The Pacers outscored the Cyclones 29-9 during the final 11 minutes of the stanza, taking a 20-point lead into halftime. 

Marywood (8-9, 3-2 AEC) outrebounded Centenary by a dominating 51-29 margin. The Pacers shot 44.6 percent from the field and held the Cyclones to 32.8 percent. Those rebounds led to a 14-2 advantage in second-chance points. 

The Pacers travel to Gwynedd Mercy University on Wednesday.
