Buzzer Beater Stuns Men's Basketball, 77-74

Scranton, Pa. -- Immaculata University's Tim Schultice hit a buzzer beater to defeat Marywood University 77-74 Wednesday in Atlantic East Conference men's basketball action. The Pacers had evened the score a mere seconds earlier.

Coming off of a timeout, coach Jon Showers designed an inbounds play that had Brendan Franko catch and pass back to Trevor Seitz in the far corner. Seitz drained an open 3-pointer with 4.3 seconds remaining that tied the score at 74 apiece.

Immaculata (10-10, 3-4 AEC) quickly inbounded the ball. In transition, Keith Farmer passed to Tim Schultice just beyond the mid-court line. Schultice heaved a low-arced shot that banged off the glass and into the net as the buzzer sounded.

Marywood (9-11, 4-4 AEC) had a pair of 15-point performances by Collin Himmelberg and Franko. Mason Mendygral scored 13 points with three blocks, often in big moments, and Austin Bausman provided 10 points.

Shilo Bivins tallied nine rebounds.

The Mighty Macs received 19 points from Dylan Crews. Crews shot 8 of 12 from the field. Dinero Washington tallied 18 points, and John Proctor factored in with 11 points.

It was a battle between scoring and rebounding proficiency. The Mighty Macs shot 51.7 percent from the field to the Pacers' 37.7 percent mark. Marywood out-rebounded Immaculata by a 42-28 difference.

Marywood had a 20-9 advantage in second-chance points. Immaculata dominated the paint to the tune of a 42-20 margin.
