Marywood Outlasted by No. 9 Cortland

Cortland, N.Y. - The Marywood University field hockey team traveled north on Saturday afternoon, as they clashed with SUNY Cortland in a non-conference matchup. The Pacers (8-5) went on to fall to the Red Dragons (11-1) by a score of 3-0. 

Cortland scored the first goal of the game in the 8th minute to go up 1-0. 

In the 28th minute, the Red Dragons extended the lead to 2-0 just before halftime. 

The second half was pretty quiet until Cortland tallied a third off of a penalty corner to grab a 3-0 lead. 

The Pacers actually out-shot the Red Dragons 12-10, 9-7 on goal. 

Maria Tomada and Cydney Lahr each recorded three shots on goal.  

Cortland had nine penalty corner opportunities in comparison to Marywood's four. 

Sabrina Frazer was in the cage for the Pacers, where she recorded four saves. 

Emma Morgan collected eight saves for the Red Dragons. 

Marywood is back in action on Tuesday as they host Neumann for the first conference game of the season.
