Women's Swimming Sweeps Wilkes, King's in Opener; Men Swept by Wilkes-Barre Teams

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University women's swimming and diving opened their season with a sweep over Wilkes University and King's College on Saturday. The Pacers men lost to the Colonels and Monarchs. 

Marywood defeated Wilkes 154-58 and King's 177-30. The Colonels won 150-41, and the Monarchs triumphed 104-65. 

Sam Peck won the women's 1,000 free in 12:39.7. She earned a 2:37.19 win in the 200 butterfly and a 1:06.52 victory in the 100 butterfly. 

Emerson Gellert prevailed in the 200 free with a 2:14.33 finish. She edged a Wilkes swimmer by 24-hundredths of a second fo a 1:01.01 win in the 100 free. She swam to a 6:05.24 win in the 500 free. 

Aubrey Mangan took first in the 100 breast in 1:18.65. She touched first in the 50 free by 26-hundredths of a second in 28.61 seconds. She also won the 200 breast in 2:56.44.

Molly Englehardt had the top 200 back time of 2:34.63. 

Patrick Marbaker took first place in the 1-meter diving. Alex Corcoran was second in the 50 free in 24.66 seconds.
