Pacers. Saints Draw to Stay Even Atop Atlantic East Standings

Marywood were held scoreless despite outshooting Marymount 24-2

Scranton, Pa. — A rematch of last year's Atlantic East Conference women's soccer championship ended in a 0-0 draw Saturday. Marywood University and Marymount University were unable to score after 90 minutes. 

The last two meetings between the two teams have ended scoreless after regulation. 

Marywood earns its fifth consecutive shutout. The Pacers' defense has held opponents scoreless through 491 minutes. 

The Pacers (10-3-2, 2-0-1 AEC) out-shot the Saints by a 24-4 margin. Marywood had a 10-2 advantage in shots on goal. The Pacers benefited from a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks. 

Genevieve Morrison made two saves for the Pacers. Jenna Orr did not face a shot in 45 scoreless minutes. 

Marymount (5-8-3, 3-0-1 AEC) was led by Mara DuFour's 10 saves. DuFour made a diving stop on a Carly Walters shot in the 74th minute. She again saved a 90th minute chance on a Walters shot off a corner kick. 

The Saints' first shot on goal came in the opening seconds of the second half off from substitute Eliza Diggs. Morrison saved a Lexa Swekosky attempt in the 69th minute. 

Marywood travels to Gwynedd Mercy Univeristy on Wednesday evening.
