Marywood Catapults over Cannoneers on Senior Day

Pacers break school record for defensive consecutive scoreless minutes

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University broke the school record for defensive consecutive scoreless minutes on Saturday in a 10-0 win over Pratt Institute in Atlantic East Conference women's soccer action. The Pacers remain tied atop the Atlantic East Conference women's soccer standings with a 12-3-2 overall and 4-0-1 conference record. 

The Pacers broke a 2021 school record by leaving opponents scoreless over the past 671 minutes, 39 seconds. Marywood beat the mark 29 minutes into regulation. 

Marywood honored four members of the Class of 2024: Josephine Sorce, Riley Mulherin, Caroline Plank and Kat Einodshofer

Josephine Sorce finished with three goals and an assist. Riley Mulherin produced three goals and two assists.

Maura Kirkpatrick scored twice off the bench. 

Genevieve Morrison made two saves. Morrison and Orr combined for their seventh straight and 13th overall shutout. 

The Pacers scored their first goal in the third minute. Carly Walters flicked a Sorce kick into the net. 

Sorce and Kirkpatrick scored in a 40-second span in the 21st and 22nd minutes. 

Marywood outshot the Cannoneers by a 28-2 margin with a 17-2 advantage in shots on target. The Pacers had a 4-1 edge in corner kicks. 

Pratt's Emma Gaspari made seven saves.
