Women's Tennis Topples DeSales, 5-2

Marywood's depth leads to back four singles wins

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University earned a 5-2 win over DeSales University Saturday in non-conference women's tennis. It is the Pacers' first win over the Bulldogs in over 15 years. 

Meilei Cianfrocco earned the decisive match-winning points in the fifth singles. Cianfrocco won by scores of 6-2, 2-6, 10-3. She won the first five points in the third set. 

Kylie Kilgore won 7-6 (4), 6-0 over the Bulldogs' Emily Prokopovich in the third singles. Alex Vitale defeated Tara Clarke by 6-3, 6-2 scores. 

Avianna Santarelli garnered a 6-2, 6-4 win in the No. 6 singles. 

Marywood captured the doubles point. Cat English and Abigail Mach won 6-3 in the third doubles flight. Kilgore and McKenna Seavey posted a 6-4 win in the No. 2 doubles. 

Marywood takes on University of Scranton on Thursday.
