Marywood Falls to the Monarchs on the Road

Wilson nets his second goal of the season

Wilkes-Barre, Pa. - On a chilly Wednesday evening, the Marywood men's soccer team traveled down to King's College for the final non-conference match of the season. The Pacers (4-5-2) would go on to fall to the Monarchs (5-4-2) by a score of 4-1. 

King's opened up the scoring in the 24th minute to pull ahead 1-0. 

The score would remain 1-0 through halftime, until the Lions added two more tallies. 

Goals in the 51st minute and the 63rd minute would grow the lead to 3-0, in favor of King's College. 

The Pacers were able to get on the board late with a goal from Jayce Wilson to narrow the margin to 3-1. Jack Forbes was credited with the assist on the score. 

The Lions added another insurance tally in the 85th minute, and the game would conclude at 4-1. 

King's led in both total shots and shots on goal, out-shooting Marywood 13-5, 8-2 on target. 

The Monarchs also recorded 10 corner kick opportunities, compared to the Pacers' three. 

Kelton Ostrander collected four saves in net for Marywood. Fellow goaltender Shane Hughes had one save for King's College.  

The Pacers will begin conference play on Saturday, as they host Neumann University at 3:00pm.
