Pacers Drop to Bryn Mawr in Gryphon Invitational

Ciullo named to all-tournament team

Bronxville, NY – The Marywood women's basketball team was back in action on Sunday as they matched up against Bryn Mawr. The Pacers (1-1) were defeated by a score of 68-61. 

A tightly contested first half was filled with scoring, as the teams went into the half with the Owls having a slight 35-32 advantage. 

Marywood hung tough though, as they were within seven points throughout the entire game, but would come up just short and go on to drop the contest 68-61. 

The Pacers shot 23-61 (37.7%) in total, 2-18 (11.1%) from beyond the arch and 13-21 (61.9%) from the charity stripe. 

The Owls were slightly better from the field, shooting 22-58 (37.9%) in total, 5-9 (55.6%) from three, and 19-21 (90.5%) from the free-throw line. 

Marywood was led offensively by Megan Cavoli, who collected 17 points while shooting 7-16 (43.8%) from the field. 

Bryn Mawr out-rebounded the Pacers 43-37 on the day. 

Olivia Ciullo led Marywood with eight boards. 

Ciullo was also named to the Gryphon Invitational all-tournament team. 

After splitting their pair of games this weekend, the Pacers will be back in action on Thursday as they host Rutgers-Newark at 6:00pm.
