Women's Swim Pounds Franciscan; Pacers Swept by Juniata

Huntingdon, Pa. — Marywood University women's swimming defeated Franciscan University of Steubenville 170-87 in a tri-match at Juniata College. The Pacers lost 151-108 to the host Eagles.

Marywood lost to Juniata 165-67 on the men's side.

Molly Englehardt earned a pair of individual first-place swims. She won the 50-meter free in 30.04 seconds. Englehardt also took first in the 400 free in 5:02.09. Englehardt also was third int he 100 back in 1:20.02.

Sam Peck had a pair of firsts. She won the 100 fly in 1:14.61, defeating Juniata's Danielle Cline by a tenth of a second. She was the top finished in the 50 butterfly in 33.25 seconds. Peck came in as the runner-up in the 800 free with a time of 10:54.61.

Alex Corcoran won the men's 50 butterfly in 29.67 seconds. He touched the wall 24-hundredths of a second ahead of the Eagles' Kevin Bowser. Corcoran clocked in at 1:03.76 for second in the 100 free. He came in third place in the 50 free at 28.31 seconds.

Aubrey Mangan was the runner-up in the 100 breast in 1:27.5.

Emerson Gellert came in second place in the 100 free (1:07.19), 50 back (36.53) and 400 IM (6:01.39).

On the men's side, Aaron Purdy produced a second-place finish in the 400 free in 5:37.47. Nathan Grosvenor had a 1:25.3 in the 100 breast and 2:20.18 in the 200 free.

Marywood's women's 400 medley relay of Englehardt, Mangan, Gellert and Kendra Musselman came in second place at 5:05.43.

The Pacers travel to St. Mary's College of Maryland next weekend to take on the Seahawks and Gallaudet University.
