Pacers Drop to Lebanon Valley

Fall to 5-2 on the season

Scranton, Pa. — On Saturday afternoon, the Marywood University women's basketball team squared off with non-conference foe, Lebanon Valley College. The Pacers (5-2) would go on to lose at the hands of the Flying Dutchmen (4-2) by a score of 78-43. 

After a dominant first quarter from Lebanon Valley, the Pacers found themselves in a 21 point hole, down 27-6. 

Marywood battled back and won the second quarter, outscoring the Flying Dutchmen 16-11, sending the game to halftime at 38-22 in favor of Lebanon Valley. 

The Flying Dutchmen added to the lead in both the third and fourth quarters. 

Marywood was a mere 27 percent from the field on the day, adding a 6-23 clip from three and going 3-8 from the free-throw line. 

Lebanon Valley fared a bit better, shooting 32-66 in total, 53.8 percent from beyond the arc, and 7-8 from the line. 

The Flying Dutchmen out-rebounded the Pacers 48-28. 

Rachel McDonald led Marywood with nine points. 

Lebanon Valley's Kailey Eckhart led all scorers with 20. 

Olivia Ciullo grabbed eight boards for Marywood to lead the team. 

The Pacers are back in action on Wednesday as they travel to Elmira College.
