Pacers Outlasted by Elmira, 59-51

Marywood falls to 5-3

Elmira, N.Y. – The Marywood University women's basketball team traveled to Elmira College to take on the Soaring Eagles Wednesday night. The Pacers and Soaring Eagles had an intense battle with Marywood eventually falling, 59-51. The Pacers now fall to 5-3 overall this season.

Elmira and Marywood were even in the first quarter, knotted at 14 apiece. 

Going into halftime, the Pacers were down 23-28. 

Coming out hot in the third quarter, Marywood outscored Elmira 20-16. Alli Griscavage scored the last points of the quarter to put the Pacers within one of the Soaring Eagles going into the fourth quarter. 

The match slipped away in the fourth with Elmira taking an eight point lead and closing out the game, 59-51.

Marywood was 19-60 on the floor, 20 percent from beyond the arch, and 8-9 from the charity stripe. 

Elmira went 25-65 in total. The Soaring Eagles only hit one three-pointer out of 11 attempts, and were a mere 8-22 from the line.

The Soaring Eagles out-rebounded the Pacers 50-39. 

Olivia Ciullo flirted with a double-double, having a team leading nine rebounds and 13 points. 

Stephanie Klemick added 12 points for the Pacers while Rachel McDonald had 11. 

The Pacers will look to bounce back on Saturday with a non-conference match against Delaware Valley University.
