AEC CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW | Pacers to Host Immaculata in Championship Match on Saturday

This is the Pacers' third AEC Final Appearance

Scranton, Pa. – First-seeded Marywood University will host the Atlantic East Conference final Saturday, November 9th. This is the second straight year the Pacers have made it to the championship game. This is Marywood's second time hosting the Atlantic East Final, the first was in 2019. The broadcast will be aired on the Atlantic East Network. 

The Pacers advanced to the finals after squaring off and eliminating Manhattanville in a 11-1 victory. Cydney Lahr had seven points on three goals and a helper for the Pacers. Lany Straub added a hat trick of her own and Maria Tomada had two goals and an assist for five points. Corrin Hasty had two assists for Marywood while Belle Coleman and Emma Wagner each had a goal. Livy Mahoney also added her first career assist in the win.

Marywood (13-6) has the fourth-most wins in program history. The Pacers went undefeated in conference play to secure the No. 1 seed in the conference playoffs.

Preview on the Pacers

Scouting the Mighty Macs
  • Immaculata checks in with a 10-8 record. The Mighty Macs are 3-1 in conference play with the only lose coming from the Pacers.
  • Marywood won 2-1 over the Mighty Macs in their conference match-up this year. Overall, Immaculata has a 4-17 record against Marywood. 
  • Saturday's match will be the first time the two teams have faced off in the Atlantic East Final. In 2023, the Pacers faced the Mighty Macs in the Semifinals and the Pacers advanced with a 2-0 victory. 
  • Three Mighty Macs are in double-digits for points this season. Alexis Andrada, Della George, and Kailey Mayoros have combined for 45 points. The trio has combined for over 70 percent of the Mighty Macs total points.
  • Immaculata is ranked 103rd in the most recent NPI rankings. The Mighty Macs are winless in seven games versus teams with a higher rank. Immaculata has a 10-1 mark versus teams with a lower ranking. Its top win came over Delaware Valley (#110).

More on the Atlantic East Conference Tournament
  • Marywood looks to win its second championship game during the Atlantic East Conference era. The Pacers defeated Wesley College in overtime in 2019. Marywood qualified for the NCAA Division III Tournament with an at-large berth during coach Julie Trott's first season at the helm. 
  • The Pacers defeated Manhattanville to advance to the championship while Immaculata squared off with Gwynedd Mercy and won, 1-0. 
  • This is Marywood's third Atlantic East Championship game appearance. Last year, the Pacers fell to St. Mary's in the championship in a close 1-0 match. In 2019 Marywood won the championship against Wesley with a 2-1 victory in double overtime.
