McDonald Scores Career-High to Spark Pacers Past Ravens

Marywood plays King's on Monday in Wilkes-Barre

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University defeated Rosemont College 60-37 Saturday in non-conference women's basketball. The 23-point differential was the Pacers' largest win since beating the Ravens by 45 last season. 

Rachel McDonald scored a career-high 25 points. She added team-bests of six rebounds, four assists and two steals. 

Megan Cavoli and Finley Bittenbender each scored eight points. Kendel Card had six rebounds. 

Kennedy Bittenbender made her career debut with two points, two assists, and two rebounds. 

Aniya McDaniel led the Ravens (0-11) with 13 points. Cassey Smith had eight rebound. 

Marywood shot 37.3 percent from the field, hitting 40.9 percent from beyond the arc. Rosemont made 24.6 percent of its attempts. 

Both teams combined for 31 turnovers. 

After the Ravens squared the score at five apiece, Marywood went on a nine-point run, capped by a Miranda Cantor 3-pointer from Faith Kendricks

Finley Bittenbender opened the second quarter with consecutive 3-pointers. Following a Tekira Knox-Wagner layup, McDonald made a layup that gave Marywood a double-digit lead (22-11). 

Marywood will travel to King's College on Monday at 6 p.m.
