Marywood Offense Explodes in Second Half for Mount St. Mary

Pacers outscore Knights 56-32 in second half

Box Score Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University men's basketball returned from its holiday break with an 89-64 victory over Mount Saint Mary (N.Y.) on Monday. The Pacers win their third straight game in the series rivalry.

Leading by just one at break, the Pacers outscored the Knights 56-32 in the second half. Marywood shot 58.82 percent from the field over the last 20 minutes.

Marywood (8-5) had four players in double figures. Cole Johnson led the Pacers with 15 points, making 6 of 7 shots from the field. Trevor Seitz also came off the bench to scored 11 points.

Michel Loftin totaled 13 points. Brendan Franko scored 11 points.

Corey Perkins contributed six of Marywood's 25 assists. Seitz had a team-best six rebounds.

Mount St. Mary was carried by Connor Cyran's 21 points and eight rebounds.

The Knights kept the game in two possessions. Shilo Bivins connected for a layup from Perkins with 13:28 remaining. It began a 18-2 run over a five-minute stretch that was capped by a Johnson's layup that made it a 65-47 Marywood lead.

Marywood benefited from an uptempo game. The Pacers had a 20-3 advantage in fast-break points. In the second half, Marywood outscored the Knights 18-1.

The Pacers open their Atlantic East Conference slate on Saturday at Neumann University.
