Straub, Page Win at Wesleyan

Marywood opens 2025 indoor track season

Middletown, Conn. - Marywood University won two events to opened its 2025 indoor track and field season at Wesleyan (Conn.) on Saturday. 

Lany Straub won the mile in 5:28.19. Straub beat the 10-woman field by 12 seconds. 

Rosalyn Page took first place in the shot put. Page hit a distance of 41 feet, 4 1/4 inches (12.6m) to finish on top of the 19 throwers. 

Fresh off his All-American performance at the NCAA Cross Country nationals, Jack Baronski ran the second-best 5K run in school history. Ryder came in second place overall in 14:58.9. 

Joseph Burke and Robert Russo made the record books in their collegiate debuts. Burke ran a 1:31-flat to take fourth place in the 600. Russo trailed in sixth in 1:31.7. They ranked third and fifth, respectively, all-time in the event. 

KC Nwokedi moved to third all-time at Marywood in the shot put. He hit a distance of 41 feet, 4 1/4 inches (12.6m) for fifth place. 

John Russo came in second place in the mile in 4:48.95. Owen Charles was third in the 1,000 at 3:08.01. 

Marywood is idle until the new year.
